Khusnullin was going to turn Azovstal into a “rest place” or an industrial park

The Azovstal plant in Russian-occupied Mariupol will be turned into a "resting place" or industrial park. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin.

“We are considering various options for its future. In the future, this zone may continue to work as an industrial park or a recreation area, but, of course, no longer as a metallurgical complex,” Khusnullin said.

During the siege of Mariupol, the most fierce battles were fought for the Azovstal plant in April-May 2022. The head of the "DPR" Denis Pushilin previously said that the plant is planned to be demolished. “The opinion of the people of Mariupol: it has been polluting the environment from the moment it appeared,” Pushilin said.
