Two Russian sappers blew themselves up on a mine while demining Azovstal – Advisor to the Mayor of Mariupol Petr Andryushchenko

Two Russian sappers were blown up by a mine while trying to clear the Azovstal plant. This was stated by Advisor to the Mayor of Mariupol Petr Andryushchenko in his Telegram channel.

“Today, Russian sappers, together with the military, were demining the territory of the Azovstal plant in the area of blast furnaces. The result - minus two invaders, went to sing along with Kobzon. The explosion was heard by half the city. To add tragedy, the invaders for some reason call their own military men power engineers. Perhaps it is a shame to admit that Mariupol continues to resist even after the evacuation of the Heroic Garrison of Mariupol.”

In May, 2.5 thousand Ukrainian soldiers who defended Azovstal surrendered . On June 7, TASS reported that more than a thousand of them were sent to Russia for investigation.

“Thanks to the actions of the Ukrainian military Armed Forces of Ukraine, intelligence, as well as the negotiating group, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN, we have hope that we will be able to save the lives of our guys. I want to emphasize that Ukraine needs Ukrainian heroes alive. This is our principle. I think that every adequate person will understand these words," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
