Russian invasion destroyed about 30% of Ukraine’s infrastructure – Ukrainian authorities

As a result of the Russian attack in Ukraine, 20% to 30% of the infrastructure was destroyed. This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov in an interview with Le Monde.

According to him, as of May 25, the total amount of direct damage caused to the Ukrainian economy as a result of the destruction of infrastructure amounted to $105.5 billion. At least 320,000 people have lost their homes. In total, during the war, Russia destroyed or seized more than 44 million square meters of housing.

According to the head of the European Investment Bank, Werner Hoyer, Ukraine may need up to €1 trillion to compensate for the damage caused by Russian troops. He said that Europe "will have to play the biggest role" in providing this financial assistance.

Since the first day of the war, the Russian authorities have been claiming that they are destroying exclusively the military infrastructure of Ukraine. However, a lot of evidence suggests otherwise. So, according to the Nikolaev regional military administration, in the region as of June 19, 5448 civilian objects were partially or completely damaged .
