Siloviki in civilian clothes attacked and beat Russian activist Roman Taganov while walking with his seven-year-old son in Adygea in March of this year. Employees of the FSB and the Center “E” filmed what was happening on video from two angles, the wife of the activist Ekaterina published the footage on the Telegram channel.
At the same time, a criminal case was initiated against the activist himself on the use of violence against a policeman, on March 17-17 he was sent under house arrest. Ekaterina claims that only now she found out that the yellow hat and blue jacket of her son were the probable reason for the attack by the security forces. Previously, the family thought that the husband was severely detained because of the green ribbon, which he used to draw attention to environmental issues.
“We couldn’t even imagine and didn’t connect the colors of our son’s clothes with the attack, but it turns out that everything is so simple. A child in a blue jacket and a yellow hat causes an attack of patriotism among the guardsmen. Now it is clear why the attacked sadists poured out their souls about their friends who died in the Donbass. It seems to me that nothing more stupid simply could not happen, because they really thought that the husband had chosen clothes for his son on purpose, although he simply does not have another.
The woman told Mediazone that both videos became available after reviewing the case materials. The first video was filmed by an FSB officer from a car parked nearby, the second by a senior detective for particularly important cases of the Center for Combating Extremism and Terrorism who attacked the activist.
The family moved to Adygea from Novosibirsk, where in 2020 Roman was nominated to the Council of Deputies. In Adygea, he was an election observer from the Communist Party, raised environmental issues and participated in the Mayak movement, including collecting signatures for the resignation of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. In the movement, the criminal prosecution of Taganov was linked to his anti-war position.
Earlier, the Adyghe activist Kase Kik left Russia after being tortured by the security forces, which began because he asked to play a song in Ukrainian in a cafe. Before that, in June in St. Petersburg, unidentified people beat up anti-war activist Oleg Klimenchuk. According to the man, the attack took place on June 14 near his house. One of the attackers said: “How much did you sell out, bitch? If you come out again, I'll kill you!" and "You don't have to go to the cops, I'm a cop myself." At the end of May, SOTA journalist Pyotr Ivanov was beaten up in St. Petersburg. Two unidentified men guarded him near his house, threw him to the ground and beat him, striking him on the head. After that, the attackers took a picture of Ivanov and asked: “Are you going to do more ***** (garbage)?” After that, the perpetrators fled. From the beginning of the war, Ivanov covered anti-war actions in St. Petersburg.
