Ukraine will introduce a visa regime with Russia from July 1

On June 17, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will consider the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelensky to introduce a visa regime for Russian citizens from July 1. Zelensky announced this on his Telegram channel.

“As part of countering unprecedented threats to national security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state, I proposed to the Cabinet of Ministers to work out the issue of revising the regime for the entry of Russian citizens into the territory of Ukraine,” Zelensky said in a statement.

The resolution should terminate the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the Russian Federation on visa-free travel for citizens of Ukraine and the Russian Federation and some international treaties between the countries.

After an objective analysis, the reference group came to the conclusion with deep regret that, given the current circumstances, the security guarantees necessary for the broadcaster to conduct, organize the song contest in accordance with the rules cannot be fulfilled,” the statement posted on the contest website reads .
