At least 288 children killed during war in Ukraine – Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine

During the war in Ukraine, at least 288 children were killed, 527 were injured. This is reported by the Prosecutor General's Office of the country. The agency emphasizes that this is not final data, the count of victims continues in places of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

  • Kharkiv region - 166,
  • Kyiv region - 116,
  • Chernihiv region - 68,
  • Luhansk region - 54,
  • Kherson region - 52,
  • Nikolaev region - 48,
  • Zaporozhye region - 30,
  • Sumy region - 17.

The Prosecutor General's Office spoke about the latest recorded cases. On June 12, as a result of artillery shelling of Lisichansk by the Russian military, a 6-year-old boy was killed. On June 11, a 12-year-old girl was wounded due to the shelling of Chertkov. During the recording of criminal offenses, it became known that on March 20, as a result of the shelling of Mariupol, an 8-year-old boy was wounded. Also in May, at least 17 children were injured in the Kharkiv region.

During the time, 1971 educational institutions in Ukraine were damaged by Russian bombing. 194 of them are completely destroyed.
