In Ulan-Ude, a reserve lieutenant colonel beat a pensioner because of “discrediting the Russian army.” He was not punished, and he wrote a denunciation to the pensioner

In Ulan-Ude, 60-year-old reserve lieutenant colonel Oleg Shcherbakov, who served in Afghanistan, beat 70-year-old pensioner Dmitry Yerbaev and wrote a complaint against him because of "discrediting the Russian army." This is written by the publication "People of Baikal".

The incident occurred in the ward of the endocrinology department of the republican hospital, where both men were being treated. According to Shcherbakov, Yerbaev "began to develop anti-politics" - he spoke out against the war and Putin. After that, the lieutenant colonel approached the pensioner:

“Yerbaev shoved me with his hands. I approached again, he shoved again. I took him by the head and dropped him on the floor. He clamped his head so that he would not kick."

According to Yerbaev, Shcherbakov, among other things, punched him three times in the face and kicked him in the area of the sacrum. In response, the pensioner called the police to the hospital. The district police officer who arrived sent him to remove the beatings: Yerbaev had a swelling on his cheek, abrasions on his hand and knee, and a bruise on his elbow.

Three weeks later, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Ulan-Ude found Shcherbakov guilty of battery and fined him 5,000 rubles. He filed an appeal, and in May the Supreme Court of Buryatia overturned the fine "due to unproven circumstances." After that, the lieutenant colonel wrote a denunciation of the pensioner to the FSB.

From there, the complaint was sent to the police, and Yerbaev was summoned to the interrogating officer. He is charged with discrediting the Russian army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The pensioner faces a fine of 30 to 100 thousand rubles.
